These terms govern your use of BOLOARENA, a platform for organizing and following pool and billiards tournaments and leagues at boloarena.com and its subdomains. By creating an account you accept them. If you only browse public pages, the terms that apply to visitors still bind you. How we handle personal data is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.

1. About BOLOARENA

BOLOARENA is an independent website, not a registered company, run by the BOLOARENA team ("we", "us"). It lets organizers run tournaments and leagues, and lets players register, play and follow results.

BOLOARENA provides the tools only. We do not organize, supervise or referee events unless we clearly say otherwise, and we are not a party to any arrangement between organizers, venues and players.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 16 to create an account. By creating one, you confirm that you are, and that you are legally able to accept these terms.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information, and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password private, and use one account only, for yourself.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you suspect someone else is using it.
  • Your display name must not impersonate anyone or be offensive.

4. Organizers and venues

Every account starts as a player account. Organizer access is granted by us on request, and we may remove it.

If you organize an event or manage a venue on BOLOARENA, you are responsible for:

  • the event itself, including its rules, scheduling, conduct, safety and any venue arrangements
  • the accuracy of what you publish, including dates, formats, entry fees and prizes
  • any money you collect. BOLOARENA does not process payments, and entry fees and prizes shown are for information only
  • meeting the law that applies to your event, including any rules on prizes, tax, age limits or licensing
  • having the right to publish anything you add, including images of venues, and any information you add about other people
  • using players' information only to run the event

5. Results and public information

Competition only works if results are visible. By taking part, you understand that your display name, profile photo, tournament participation, results and rankings are public, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Results are entered by organizers and players. If you think a result is wrong, raise it with the organizer first. We can correct records, but we do not decide disputes about play.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you add, such as photos, descriptions and names. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and reproduce it, only as needed to run and promote BOLOARENA. This licence ends when the content is removed, except for copies that are needed to keep existing results and records intact.

You promise that you have the right to add your content, and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law, or harass, threaten or abuse anyone
  • publish content that is illegal, hateful, misleading or sexually explicit, or that infringes someone's rights
  • falsify results, or manipulate rankings or brackets
  • impersonate another person or organization
  • publish other people's personal data without a lawful reason
  • access accounts, data or systems you are not authorized to access, or test or bypass our security
  • upload malicious code, or add scripts or other active content to descriptions
  • overload or disrupt the service
  • collect data from the service in bulk by automated means, other than through normal search engine indexing

8. Our intellectual property

The BOLOARENA name, logo, website design, text and software belong to us or our licensors, and are protected by law. You may use the service as these terms allow, and nothing here transfers those rights to you.

You must not copy, mirror, frame or republish the site or any substantial part of it, serve it from another domain, or point another domain at our servers, without our written permission. boloarena.com and its subdomains are the only official versions of BOLOARENA.

9. Reporting illegal content

To report content you believe is illegal or breaks these terms, email [email protected], which is also our contact point under the EU Digital Services Act, for users and for authorities. You can write to us in English or Romanian. Please include:

  • the link to the content
  • why you believe it is illegal or breaks these terms
  • your name and email address, unless the report concerns certain serious offences
  • a statement that you are reporting in good faith

We will review reports promptly and fairly, and tell you what we decide. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we will explain why, and you can challenge the decision by replying to us.

10. Suspension and closing accounts

We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users or the service. Unless that would be unsafe or unlawful, we will tell you why.

You can stop using BOLOARENA at any time, and can delete your account from your profile. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep BOLOARENA running well, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features. If we plan to close the service, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

BOLOARENA has no paid plans today. If we introduce them, we will publish the prices and terms first, and nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.

13. Disclaimers

BOLOARENA is provided as it is, and is currently free of charge. We do not guarantee that information added by users is accurate, or that any event will take place as described. To the extent the law allows, we exclude warranties not set out in these terms.

14. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit or data, or for anything arising from an event, an organizer, a venue or another user.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intentional harm or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory consumer rights are not affected.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies, and may ask you to accept the new version to keep using your account. If you do not agree, you can stop using BOLOARENA and delete your account.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law and applicable European Union law. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country.

Please contact us first, so that we can try to resolve any problem. If we cannot, disputes go to the competent courts in Romania, and consumers can also use the courts where they live.
